Brief Thoughts on the 2013 Nebula Award Finalists + Two Free Novellas from Tor.

I am very pleased with this year’s Nebula Finalists. I see at least three authors of color, two LGBT authors, and every single category for text-based works is majority women.

I’m proud of the SFWA for the direction that they’re heading in.

Additionally, for an FYI, Tor is offering two of the Nebula finalists for best novella for free – Veronica Schanoes’ Burning Girls and Andy Duncan’s and Ellen Klages’ Wakulla Springs.

Tor doesn’t do this sort of thing very often, and it is appreciated.

Very warm thoughts for SF/F today.
